17 Oct The Big Buddy Program
The Big Buddy Program was created and spearheaded by Ariela Tejada to address a critical need in our South Florida community: supporting unaccompanied youth, immigrant children, and minors navigating life without their parents.
Through this program, trained student volunteers are paired 1-on-1 with children in need to provide:
- Weekly Academic Tutoring: Personalized help in reading, mathematics, STEM subjects, and school coursework.
- ESL Language Assistance: Helping non-native English speakers gain confidence and fluency in their classrooms.
- Mentorship & Friendship: Consistent, compassionate companionship so these children always know they have an ally standing beside them.
Under Ariela’s leadership, the Big Buddy Program continues to expand across South Florida, pairing dozens of young mentors with kids who need encouragement, stability, and care.
