About Us

Meds4Kidz Foundation works to improve the lives of children in need in Bolivia and South Florida. In Bolivia, we help medically vulnerable children access essential medicines and specialized care. In South Florida, we support children and families through disaster relief, holiday toy drives, back-to-school efforts, and the Big Buddy program, which provides tutoring, mentorship, and friendship. Through donors, volunteers, and community partners, we help meet children’s needs with care, dignity, and hope.

Meet Ariela Tejada, President & Co-Founder

Ariela has been an integral part of Meds4Kidz for as long as she can remember. Her passion for healthcare and service was shaped from an early age by her grandfather, a devoted doctor who brought her into rural communities to help care for families who lacked access to medical treatment, and by her mother who passed down a deep family tradition of helping others. After serving as Vice President, Ariela stepped into the role of President to lead the organization’s next chapter.

Under Ariela’s executive leadership, Meds4Kidz has expanded its reach—spearheading community initiatives in South Florida including the Big Buddy Program for unaccompanied minors, back-to-school supply drives, and annual holiday gift distributions, alongside our ongoing international pipeline delivering life-saving medicines to children in Bolivia.

Meet Daniela Tejada, Co-Founder and Vice President

My name is Daniela Tejada. My sister and I started Meds4Kidz Foundation to help underprivileged and medically vulnerable children in Bolivia get the medicine and specialized care they desperately need. Growing up witnessing poverty and healthcare disparities, we wanted to create an organization where 100% of contributions go directly toward purchasing essential medicines for children in need.

Here’s how it all started…

My sister and I grew up with the desire to help those less fortunate and help them improve their lives. We always helped and volunteered with our parents, but it wasn’t until 2012, when I went to the United Nations as a Student Ambassador, that I figured out how we could channel our help. It was during my participation at the Model Montessori United Nations that I felt empowered to take action, and together, my sister and I started Meds4Kidz Foundation Inc.

Initially, my sister and I sold hand-made rubber band bracelets, but soon realized this was not enough to get the kids all the help they desperately needed. So, after giving it a lot of thought, other ways to raise funds started taking shape, and we worked together to make the organization grow and help more kids. Meds4Kidz has organized 5ks, fundraising events, and run successful GoFundMe campaigns to help the children in Bolivia.

Past Campaigns

Meds4Kidz has supported children in Bolivia through Centro Nutricional San Luis, a nutritional center in San Carlos, and El Hogar de Dios, a shelter for children with cerebral palsy and other serious medical conditions. Through our 5Ks and other fundraising events, we raised money to purchase medicine and supplies, then traveled to Bolivia to deliver them to children in need.

Current Campaigns

Today, Meds4Kidz supports children and families in South Florida through our annual holiday toy drive, Thanksgiving food drive, and back-to-school efforts, which provide local students with essential school supplies. We also offer the Big Buddy program, created by co-founder and President Ariela Tejada. It pairs volunteers with children who are here without their parents, providing tutoring, mentorship, friendship, and support.

Funding

Funds raised through Meds4Kidz help us purchase medicine and medical supplies for children in Bolivia and support local South Florida programs for children and families. These programs include our holiday toy drive, Thanksgiving food drive, back-to-school efforts, and Big Buddy program. The operational costs of running the Meds4Kidz Foundation are funded separately, so 100% of contributions received through our events and website go directly to our charitable programs.
